This is a one of a series of four maps covering all of Tasmania (including Macquarie Island and King Island as insets). Individual maps cover an area of approximately 37,000 sq. kms. The maps may be joined together to create an impressive wall map.
Roads are symbolised to reflect their surface and importance to the state network. Distance markers between population centres and major road intersections aid vehicle navigation. The show of the ground is depicted by a combination of contours (at a 100 metre vertical interval) and hill shading.
This series of maps is recommended for regional planners and visitors intending to travel a little off the common tourist routes. It is popular with drivers, cyclists and people wanting a regional overview of an area. This particular map includes an inset map of King Island.
